Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive learning media based on the traditional snakes and ladders game integrated with the Wordwall digital platform. The development was carried out to respond to the need for more engaging, active, and contextual learning, particularly in supporting students' understanding of heat and temperature topics. The research method used was a Research and Development (R&D) approach, which included the stages of design, production, limited trial, and product evaluation. The trial was conducted at SMAN 2 Gunung Talang involving 32 eleventh-grade students. Data were collected using a practicality questionnaire covering ease of use, time efficiency, and usefulness of the media, and analyzed quantitatively in a descriptive manner. The results showed that the developed media received an average score of 4.28 out of 5, categorized as very good. Students responded positively to the visual design, gameplay flow, and Wordwall integration, which were considered interactive and enjoyable. The media was also considered effective in increasing student engagement and independent learning. Therefore, the integrated snakes and ladders–Wordwall media is feasible to be used as an innovative alternative learning tool in the classroom.
