Mental health disorders in adolescents are an increasing problem and are often not diagnosed early. This is caused by various factors, such as social stigma, lack of awareness, and limited access to psychological services. To overcome this problem, this research developed an expert system based on the Forward Chaining and Certainty Factor methods to diagnose mental health disorders in adolescents. The Forward Chaining method is used to draw conclusions based on symptoms input by the user, while the Certainty Factor method helps in measuring the level of certainty of a diagnosis. This expert system was designed with a knowledge base developed based on literature and consultation with experts in the field of psychology. Testing is carried out through a simulation based on a questionnaire filled out by respondents. The research results show that the expert system developed is able to provide an initial diagnosis with a good level of accuracy, as well as provide further recommendations, such as consultation with a psychologist if necessary. It is hoped that this research can be a tool for teenagers, parents and medical personnel in detecting mental health disorders more quickly and accurately. Apart from that, implementing this system can also reduce the social stigma of mental health problems by providing a more objective and technology-based approach.
Fajar Maulana Alihamsar Batubara Ummi Kaltsum Yuhelni Mala Sari Wafiqotissalamah Wafiqotissalamah Copyright (c) 2025 Journal-Technology of Computer 2025-02-01 2025-02-01 2 1 1 15
